The Browning Family Farm

Nestled between majestic bluffs just 2 miles south of Noel on Highway 59, The Cavern Inn stands as a beacon of history and tranquility. Originally constructed in the late 1890s, this limestone abode was once the home of C. Arthur Browning, the discoverer of Bluff Dwellers Cave. As time passed and the Browning family expanded, so did the house—evolving with an addition that nearly doubled its size.

Today, The Cavern Inn is run by Ann and Ray Bunch (the grandson of Arthur Browning) and features four meticulously renovated guest rooms - three are upstairs, each boasting its own private bathroom. On the main floor, the inn offers a handicap-accessible bedroom, alongside a sprawling open living room and a kitchen that serves as the heart of the home.

The common area, a grand space with a massive fireplace and surrounding windows, forms the core of the inn. These windows frame stunning views of the surrounding woods and are only outdone by the kitchen’s three-sided glass panorama. Outdoors, the patio beckons with its granite inlaid floor and ornate ceiling fan, perfect for enjoying the fresh air and scenic beauty. The Inn offers breathtaking views of the bluffs and a spring-fed pond. And for your hunters, arrangements can be made to hunt on the acreage adjacent to and above the Inn. Modern amenities include Wi-fi and private bathrooms.

Beyond the comforts of the inn, Noel's landscape offers breathtaking cliffs and limestone overhangs along Missouri Highways 59 & 90, tracing the path of the Elk River. This prime location offers abundant opportunities for river rafting, canoeing, and kayaking—adventures are just a stone’s throw away, yet far enough to feel like a true escape. During the fall, the area is transformed with a vibrant display of autumn hues, providing a spectacular backdrop for guests.

The Inn itself overlooks stunning bluffs and a spring-fed pond. With modern amenities like Wi-Fi and on-suite bathrooms - most with both tub and shower The Cavern Inn combines the charm of yesteryear with today’s conveniences for a uniquely memorable stay.

Fall is particularly beautiful when the trees are vivid with an autumn palette of red, orange, gold, and brown.
